IC CAE Marshall Students & Staff Help Liberate Victims of Human Trafficking

A group of Marshall University’s Digital Forensics and Information Assurance students, faculty, and staff have assisted in the liberation of nearly 40 child trafficking victims and the arrest of 10 suspected traffickers. They did so through a partnership with the nonprofit group Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.).

Scholar Partners with Local Emergency Management to Translate Disaster Documents

EKU Hosts Critical Thinking Applied to the Intelligence Analysis Process (CTIAP) Workshop

On February 2nd, 2018 Dr. James Hess joined BGS IC CAE Scholars to conduct a full-day workshop on critical thinking and the process of applying it to intelligence analysis. Dr. Hess is a retired U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, as well as a previous professor in the Combating Terrorism Center at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

IC CAE Scholars Attend the Advanced Technical Intelligence Center

The Advanced Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) is a 15 week hybrid program combining 10 weeks of in-class intelligence coursework, followed by a 5 week experiential learning track in either Law Enforcement, Technical Analysis, or Cyber Security. The mission of ATIC is to develop advanced critical thinkers capable of problem-solving and communicating complicated ideas.

Mr. Bailey Cox, a senior Homeland Security major at EKU, recently attend and presented at the 8th Annual Maritime Risk Symposium held at Tiffin University. The theme of the symposium was Cybersecurity in the Maritime Transportation System. The invitation-only annual symposium is attended by professionals in the maritime arena including the U.S. Coast Guard, private industry, and universities.

On October 27th, 2017, the Bluegrass State Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (BGS IC CAE) hosted an intelligence career panel at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. The career panel included guest speakers from the U.S. Army, the Kentucky Homeland Security Fusion Center, the Defense Intelligence Agency/CENTCOM, and the Kentucky State Police.
