BGS IC CAE Scholar Presents a Maritime Risk Symposium
Mr. Bailey Cox, a senior Homeland Security major at EKU, recently attend and presented at the 8th Annual Maritime Risk Symposium held at Tiffin University. The theme of the symposium was Cybersecurity in the Maritime Transportation System. The invitation-only annual symposium is attended by professionals in the maritime arena including the U.S. Coast Guard, private industry, and universities. Bailey’s presentation focused on threats to U.S. maritime resilience (a copy of his poster presentation is attached at the bottom of the page). Bailey was awarded second place in the juried student poster presentation portion of the symposium. Bailey stated his participation in the symposium provided “a great opportunity to network with maritime professionals, while also learning the issues with cyber threats in the maritime realm.” Bailey’s participation in the symposium was funded via a student grant provided by the BGS IC CAE.
