Applications for IC CAE Scholars Program

IC CAE Scholars are eligible for even more opportunities to prepare for and obtain a position in the intelligence and security community.  These opportunities include:

1.  Access to IC CAE Scholar scholarships and grants for semester abroad, study abroad, advanced and critical language instruction, internships, research projects and conference participation.

2. Nomination to attend the all-expense paid 2-week annual National Security Intelligence Analysis Summer Seminar in Washington D.C.

3. A competitive advantage in obtaining US federal intelligence community positions.

Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply and continue as an IC CAE Scholar who meet the following qualifications:

1. Enroll and maintain satisfactory progress toward an academic major, minor, certificate, concentration, or option in intelligence or security.
2. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (undergraduate students) or 3.0 (graduate students).
3. Participate annually in intelligence outreach events, such as workshops, guest lectures, career panels and symposiums (minimum participation points are posted below).

Students successfully completing the IC CAE Scholars Program will be awarded an IC CAE Scholar Achievement Certificate. Students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher will be cited on the IC CAE Scholar Distinguished Achievement Certificate.

Students shall submit their IC CAE Scholar applications either on paper or digitally to the BGS IC CAE co-director(s) at their home university. For students from other universities, send application to BGS IC CAE co-director where enrolled in certificates or to the Eastern Kentucky University co-director:

IC CAE Scholars Program Participation Points

To remain in good standing as an IC CAE Scholar, you must accumulate a minimum of 8 participation points in the previous 12 months.  Points are assigned to a number of activities to include attendance at workshops, career panels, guest lectures, seminars, symposiums, conferences and other activities related to intelligence and security.  Participation points are not assigned for any activity where the student obtains academic credit.  The number of IC CAE Scholar participation points the student accumulates will be considered when awarding IC CAE Scholar scholarships and grants.

The participation point assignments are detailed below:

Students may also submit requests for IC CAE Scholar participation points for other outside activities related to intelligence or national security, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
