The panel consisted of six different speakers. Mr. Bob Douglas from Kentucky Crime Prevention Coalition spoke about the future for crime prevention in school. Mr. Douglas was responsible for many of the crime prevention programs in the state of Kentucky. Sergeant Josh Hale from Richmond Police Department, discussed some of the recent community efforts for crime prevention. Mr. Paul Buta from the Secret Service Office in Lexington discussed many of the crime prevention techniques on a federal level such as detecting counterfeit. The last half of the panel addressed issues such as School Resources Officers (Presented by Officer Sam Wade) Dating Violence (presented by EKU Green Dot) and the opioid crisis (presented by bluegrass.org)

The presentation was eye opening to many of the past, current, and future crime prevention strategies in the United States, the state of Kentucky, the Richmond community, and even EKU’s campus.  For more information regarding the presentation please contact Tiffani Peel.
