U.S. State Department Recruiter Visits BGS IC CAE

On August 31, 2017, the Bluegrass State Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence (BGS IC CAE) hosted a recruitment visit by Mr. Michael McClellan with the U.S. Department of State (DOS).  Mr. Michael McClellan is a retired career Foreign Service Officer (FSO) with the DOS and now serves as a DOS recruiter for Kentucky and Tennessee.  During his visit, Mr. McClellan provided information on careers in foreign and civil service, diplomatic security and law enforcement, and intelligence.  He also discussed his experiences as a FSO.  Mr. McClellan also offered advice to students of how to best to professional prepare for DOS internship and employment applications and what the DOS looks for in applicants.  The DOS website was also navigated by Mr. McClellan to show students where to look for internship and employment announcement as well as to find out more information on DOS careers.  Lastly, Mr. McClellan explained how he is willing to work with BGS IC CAE students on an individual basis in relation to internship and employment opportunities, which will be a very beneficial resource to the BGS IC CAE.  Additional information on DOS careers can be accessed at: https://careers.state.gov/.
