Mr. Bailey Cox, a senior Homeland Security major at EKU, recently attend and presented at the 8th Annual Maritime Risk Symposium held at Tiffin University. The theme of the symposium was Cybersecurity in the Maritime Transportation System. The invitation-only annual symposium is attended by professionals in the maritime arena including the U.S. Coast Guard, private industry, and universities.

On October 27th, 2017, the Bluegrass State Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (BGS IC CAE) hosted an intelligence career panel at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, Kentucky. The career panel included guest speakers from the U.S. Army, the Kentucky Homeland Security Fusion Center, the Defense Intelligence Agency/CENTCOM, and the Kentucky State Police.
